We are a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization that receives no government funding or funding from any national animal welfare groups. We do not receive funding from the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA. We are completely dependent on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers in our community to allow us to continue our life-saving mission. Your support is desperately needed!
Using the JustGive button located on every page, you will be able to make donations online, and you can even set up monthly contributions. Our organization is registered with GuideStar as well.

Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor is an easy fundraiser that allows you to scan your Kroger Plus Card, as usual, and Kroger will donate a percentage of your purchase (at no cost to you) to CTSAC. You can come to the shelter to pick up the Customer Form, or you can download it and print it at your home. You simply bring the Customer Form with you next time you go to Kroger, they scan the bar code, and voila! Each time you use your Kroger Plus Card to purchase your groceries, Kroger donates to us. You will not have to bring the Customer Form with you every time, just once a session to link your Kroger Plus Card to CTSAC. Each session runs from July 1 through April 30.

Brushes, Combs, Deshedders. Our fluff-balls are looking kind of grungy, and that's because we've worked our way through more brushes, combs, and deshedders than you can shake a stick at. These items are affordable and very much needed, so if you could donate a new brush, comb, or deshedder, we would be very appreciative, and so would the dogs and cats.
Stretch and Scratch. The Cat Lady would like 1,000 Stretch and Scratch cat kennel scratchers to help the cats relieve some of the stress they experience here at the shelter. 1,000 scratchers would last at least 12 months. They are $75 for 50 of them. Even just one order would be enough for all the cats available for adoption right now!
Picnic Tables. We have a huge fenced yard now, and no where to sit. It would be lovely if you could donate a picnic table and/or lawn chairs.
Air Purifier. One of the reasons animals get sick at the shelter is from poor ventilation. An air purifier like the one found at this site would help decrease the incidence of deadly upper respiratory infections in our adoption room. If we had four purifiers, we would have enough for the cat adoption rooms, intake room, and sick bay. Ten purifiers would be enough for all of our animals.
Feliway. Feliway is a device that helps destress the cats. You can find it at any pet-supply store and even at Wal-Mart. You can also order some here.

Our donation bin is in the lobby. On every page of the site, to the left below the contact information, is our Wish List. These are items that we always need, and we are grateful to you for donating them. We get donations of cat and dog food, but not often do we get kitten and puppy food. Kittens and puppies have different dietary needs than their adult counterparts, so don't forget about the little fuzzy balls of cuteness when choosing food to donate to the shelter.
On the wish list, you will also see a link to Kuranda Dog Beds. These beds are the ones you will find in many of the pens in the new shelter. In the past, we had animals sleep on blankets on the floor. This was not only uncomfortable, but frequently very unsanitary. The Kuranda beds are not only easier to clean and more comfortable, but they are also much healthier for the dog. They are elevated off of the floor and the fabric can be easily cleaned making it less likely to hang on to diseases between dogs.
In our new building, we have a Tree of Life. The branches were bare, but as our shelter has expanded, so have the leaves started sprouting on our little tree. You can add leaves to our tree by donating to the shelter. Each donation to the Tree of Life will benefit the shelter, and will get you a leaf-shaped plaque on the tree. We hope to fill our tree with leaves by the end of the year! To purchase a leaf, donate $100 (bronze), $250 (silver), or $500 (gold) to the shelter. Come in to get a form on which you can provide what you would like your leaf to say. People have put their businesses, relatives, and of course, their pets' names on leaves. This is a wonderful way to make a memorial donation. The tree is painted on the wall in the lobby, across from the cat room. Come view our tree and consider helping it blossom!

Any amount you can donate will be helpful, whether it's $5 or $5000. We can accept financial donations in the form of checks, cash, Master Card or VISA. Please do not mail cash to us, though. Checks and money orders can be made payable to Corinne T. Smith Animal Center and sent to the address at the top left of the page. Tax benefits are available if you itemize your deductions on your tax return. Cash you donate can be exempt from federal income tax.
We have a number of people who have made monthly commitments to CTSAC. Each month, either by check, credit card, or automatic bank draft, they make a donation of a set amount. The smallest monthly commitment we have is for $10.00 and the largest is $100.00. We love these donations, because these are the only donations that we know we can expect. We have decided to call this giving program "Our Wonderful One Hundred." We are looking for 100 people to donate at least $25.00 per month. Each of these people will have their names on an appreciation plaque in our lobby.
The total of these monthly commitments will be $2,500 per month. Just thinking about what this money could do makes our hearts go a-flutter. $2,500 per month will pay our electric bill, pay for all of our vaccinations for dogs and cats, pay for heartworm tests for all of our dogs, buy cat litter for the month, and have about $600 a month left over for "extras" like tick and flea treatments and veterinary care for animals that need it.
We count on you to make our mission successful. Please call (325) 646-0617 for information about how to be a part of our Wonderful One Hundred donors.

Snickers the Dog is the CTSAC mascot and comes to all of our events! He is people-sized and is lots of fun to be around. Snickers is the one you'll find posing for the camera at our Santa Paws fundraiser, and he'll be at many of our events from now on. In fact, for a $250 donation, Snickers will come to your event! Snickers is great at kids' events and is just a fun fuzzy friend to have around.

A bequest may provide for a specific dollar gift, a percentage of your estate or specific asset(s) to be given to the CTSAC.
There are many ways to give a gift of life insurance. Whether you are purchasing a new policy or giving a policy that is no longer necessary or relevant to your needs, the CTSAC can be named as a recipient to receive part or all of the policy proceeds.
Giving a retirement plan as a gift (401K plans, IRAs, stock bonus plans, etc.) may help reduce taxes for yourself and your heirs.
We need the good stuff. The phrase "beggars can't be choosers" has crossed our minds, but after much thought, we have decided that we would rather you donate one small bag of quality food to our animals than donate one large bag of poor-quality food. The poor-quality brands, which are the ones we most frequently receive, have caused such severe vomiting, diarrhea, and health problems in our already stressed animals that we have resorted to throwing them out rather than feeding them to our pets.
We welcome the following brands: Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul, Taste of the Wild, Three Dog Bakery, Halo, Blue Buffalo, Max Cat, Merrick, Iams, and any food with meat or meat meal (not meat by-products) as the first ingredient. We need pet food that gives our animals--under high levels of stress in an environment that literally makes them sick--the nutrition they need.
Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul, half the price of Science Diet, is our favorite brand. You can find it at Ag-Mart.

We have had children throw birthday parties and ask their friends for dog and cat toys to donate to the shelter. Although it may seem small, little gifts like these really make our pets' day, and kids have a lot of fun picking out dog and cat toys, too.

Appreciated securities such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds are a simple method of giving that may allow you tax deductions.
Gifts of real estate may include undeveloped land, a commercial property, a vacation home, or a personal residence. Whether you give a gift of real estate outright or if you make a gift of the remaining interest in that property while you are still using the property, such a gift may entitle you to sizeable tax deductions.
The charitable lead trust permits you to make a future transfer of assets to your heirs, while providing a regular, fixed amounts of income to the CTSAC for a specified number of years.
